My Happiness in a Box

Lip balms I've been using recently. Here's to hoping that I'll purchase a bigger box for more stick/pot/tube of happiness. :)

Best Lip Balm I've Tried: Carmex

Finally, I was able to get hold of my first Carmex. You see, I self-diagnosed myself with angular cheilitis. Angular cheilitis is a painful condition where the sides of your lips break just like in chapped lips. They are painful, dry and flaky and it's sort of embarrassing when you sport them out in public - not that I would want to sport them anyway. But since I apparently have this condition, I was looking for ways to manage them. And I heard how Carmex is used for cold sores and chapped lips. Though this doesn't technically fall under cold sores or chapped lips, they more or less have the same treatment. To give you an idea on how painful angular cheilitis is, imagine the sides of your lips breaking into fissures. You have to open your mouth slowly so it will not further break. I refuse to post a picture of it because it's not pretty. hehe.

So when I learned that Carmex can at least relieve the pain in angular cheilitis, I just had to get it. Aside from the fact that I'm a lip balm junkie and anything lip balm will appear to me, health-wise, it is calling me.

Here are the Carmex variants that I've tried. I have the Cherry variant but I haven't opened it yet.

Strawberry (stick), Original (pot), Original (tube)
My favorite is the tube pack because I can control the amount that goes into my lips and it just glides upon application. Strawberry is not bad. It smells great, exactly like strawberry (lol) and it has a bit of minty feel in it but not as strong as the original though. However, I like my balms minty so I fell for the original. It stays (minty feeling) for a little more than a minute I think. Some claim it stays more than 2-3 minutes, but I say 1 minute or less. As for its moisturizing ability, it certainly holds true to its distinction as the number OTC lip balm in the US. This is the best lip balm that I've tried. And I've tried a lot. Cost is also reasonable at P99 per stick/pot/tube. Over-all? I give it a 5/5. I just love it. Did I say I love it? Yes, I love it. :)

EOS Lip Balm in Sweet Mint

I've been lemming for this cutesie shaped balm for the longest time! I'd have to admit that I wanted this because of the packaging (superficial much?). So finally, I got to purchase this online. It's pricy for a balm (I got it for P250) but because I was so drawn to its unique packaging, I decided to give it a try.

This is not the best that I've tried so far. It's not very moisturizing and won't suffice for people with dry lips. This might be perfect for people with "normal" lips but not for me. However, I love its minty feel and taste. I can't help but lick my lips!:) Apparently, I have a penchant for yummy and minty balms. I use this sparingly with my medicated Blistex balm (review to follow). Over-all in a scale of 1-5, I'd give this a 3..or a 3.5 for the flavor and the cute shape. Will I repurchase? I'd still think about it.

ONE Naturales Lip balm

Hey Lip Junkies!

This blog is created out of my love,no, addiction on lip balms. I don't know how or when it started but I just came to love it. I'm honestly not the girly girl type. Truth is, I don't even know how to put on make-up but I'm so into skin care. So since this blog is named Lip Balm Love, my first post will be a lip balm review.

Shea Butter Lip Balm
O.N.E. Naturales Lip Tune-Up

ONE Naturales balms are organic lip balm and made from shea butter. Other ingredients include Linseed Seed Oil, Coconut oil, Beeswax, Cocoa Seed Butter, Lanolin, Orange Peel oil and other essential ingredients to preserve the essential oils and organic ingredients.

While I was doing my rounds at Watsons, I chanced upon the O.N.E Naturales corner. The first thing I noticed was their nifty packaging. I remembered it was payday that time so I just picked whatever I want. Since I'm drawn to lip balms, I picked this immediately without checking the price and I was quite surprised that it's at P199! A bit pricey for a 10g lip balm but I'd have to say it's worth it. I really like how it moisturizes my super dry lips. It has a very sweet smell(maybe because of the coconut) and I can't seem to stop licking my lips because of how yummy it is. I'm almost done with my tin can and I'd definitely purchase another. However, I can't find it in Watsons anymore. By the way, it's only available in Watsons Ayala (for Cebu based people). Well, this might not be good news for you if you don't like online shopping but they have a ONE Naturales Facebook Fan page where you can place your orders. Hurry now so you can take advantage of their Everything for P199 sale as early as now. It will officially start on July 31-August 19 in all Watsons outlets. This promo is part of their first anniversary promo.
